1st Plt. Aztec

This is a picture of most of the guy's in the 1st Platoon. Lt John Andrew Todd is the center person in the back row.
After the 2/8 stood down in June of 1972 Lt Todd stayed in Vietnam as the Aide- de-Camp for BG Richard Tallman. Lt Todd was Killed in Action on July 9, 1972. Lt Todd, BG Tallman and two other officers were killed by a lone artillary shell at An Loc during the NVA Spring Offensive of 1972. Lt John A. Todd is listed on The Virtual Wall Use your back browser button to return here.

NOTE

BG Tallman did not die in An Loc but at the 3rd Field Hospital in Saigon in the evening of 9 Jul 1972. I was Dustoff 79 and the aircraft commander (57th Med Det ) that brought him and several of his staff to that hospital on that fateful Sunday morning.Christopher M. Siedor
